The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for the identification, initial qualification and marketing support process that involves Structured Distribution, Integrated Technology, WAN Telecommunications and Managed Service business opportunities for medium and large STRATEGIC prospects based throughout North America.
Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for working with Contingent Network Services marketing, operations and engineering teams as well as prospective and active clients to determine how an opportunity should be priced and engaged. Candidate must have a proven track record of services sales success, consultative selling capability and general knowledge/awareness of the information technology environment. Must have the ability to develop strong customer relationships at the executive level and the ability to work with others to craft custom, technical solutions. Must have strong negotiation skills, strong business judgment and be a self-starter. Position is a sales hunting role vs an account management farming role. Most importantly, it is the responsibility of the BDM to close new prospective accounts. There are no geographical boundaries or assigned territories.
Manage entire consultative sales cycle including identification of lead, proposal generation, contact, negotiation of terms, closure, turn-over, high-level relationship management and overall Client satisfaction
Build custom, systems-based solutions recommendations and pricing based on modular service activities for exact fit for client
Work independently and be responsible for achieving all defined forecast goals and milestones
Utilize, provide, develop and maintain the same levels of activities, services and professionalism described above when dealing with any customers served by any division of the company regardless of the manner in which the customer was contacted.
Accomplish other assignments or projects assigned by management.
Desired Skill:
10 years related industry experience
Possess a working knowledge of the IT products and services industry, its distribution channels and pricing
Possess a working knowledge of the telecommunications industry, its distribution channels and pricing
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Must possess excellent verbal and written sales communication skills
Proven track record of sales success in the IT products and services and/or telecommunications industry
Possess ability to work under pressure
Possess an extreme sense of urgency
Possess ability to work in a team environment across departmental boundaries
Education Required:
